The Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection,\u00a0a unit of the\u00a0University of Texas Libraries, is a specialized research library focusing on materials from and about Latin America, and materials relating to Latin@s in the United States. Latin America is here defined to include Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean island nations, South America, and areas of the United States during the period they were a part of the Spanish Empire or Mexico.

\n This collection covers a wide range of areas and topics of interest to the family researcher, with a strong concentration of materials on Texas and the south.\u00a0 The collection includes a large census collection and indexes, county records on microfilm for most of South Texas and materials on Hispanic Families in Texas and northern Mexico.\u00a0 Our collection includes: census indexes, census microfilm, Internet, family search, obituary indexes, vital records for Texas counties and northern Mexico.<\/span><\/p>\n
