1 Aritta Keevendu Perumal (Jayaweera Bandara) ? - 1594

South Indian adventurer by the name of Aritta Keevendu (Kirivendu) Perumal. Became a favorite of Rajasinghe I. Received title and made a high official. On the death of Rajasinghe he became an important figure in the Sitawaka Kingdom. He deserted to the Portuguese which enabled them to subjugate the Sitawaka Kingdom. Dharmapala honored him with the title "Jayaweera Bandara". Accompanied Sinhala soldiers to Kandy under Pedro Lopez de Souza, the First Captain General of the Portuguese in Ceylon. He was slain by Pedro Lopez de Souza in 1594.
