My family information is as follows:   

Father:  Stewart Woodrew Andrew DeLa Motte  born October 27 1927  and died July 1992 in  Mt. Lavinia.  

He was the son of Norman Gratiaen DeLa Motte (Surveyor, Works Dept.) deceased since mid 1970's; and Mary Agnes Kelly deceased since late 1980's.  I believe they were from Kandy.  The following is his ancestral information which I obtained from my Aunt Doreen Solomons in Australia which she had to obtain (I don't know from what source) in order to emigrate to Australia in the 1970's as proof of European ancestral descent.  I quote below as per the written record she sent me:   

QUOTE 

"Paternal:  "Your ancestor in Ceylon was uncle to the head of the DeLa Motte's family who died in Ronbais in the year 1881.  He had a brother (Gustave DeLa Motte) who held a high position in the Government, living with his family in Versallis in the year 1875, when their father made inquiries of his brother who left for Ceylon during the revolution in the year 1793."      

By Revd. Father C. Masiett, O.MI., Mis: Apostolic.

Note.- This priest is from France, and is now Parish Priest at St. Anna's, Talaioila." 

"Maternal:  "My father, Stephen James de Motte married in 1846, Matilda Henrietta Koster, who claimed descent from Klass Koster of Amsterdam, who arrived at Galle in the year 1790, (vide last Dutch Records as published in the Independent).  When my mother died her remains were interred in the Dutch Presbyterian Burial Ground at the Pettah, or where the Consistory Buildings are now standing."

My father's father, Norman Gratiaen DeLa Motte first married a Miss Ephraums ( http://www.worldgenweb.org/lkawgw/gen1175.html Ephraums Family #1175) and together they had a daughter Viola (deceased) who married a de Zilwa, and a son Neville (deceased) who was a sub-editor at Lake House.  My father was the only son from the 2nd marriage.  He has 5 sisters all still well and alive:
