João Antonio Dib

Councilman of Porto Alegre, Brazil (12,886 votes in 1996).



Born on 24/07/29, son of Julia and Antonio Kalile Dib. He is divorced and has three children: Jorge Renato, Denis and Jeferson. He started out as a Civil engineer. Became Municipal Mayor (1983/85), Municipal Secretary of Workmanships and Means of transportation, the Carriers, Government, and Director-generality of the DMAE. He is the most experienced Councilman of Porto Alegre. He initiated as a substitute and he assumed the mandate in 1968.

He was the subject of headlines and trophies of local and national recognition for his public performance. Dib would like to make a city more humane. With seedbeds of flowers and better quality of life for its inhabitants.

I sent an e-mail to João Antonio Dib, inquiring if he was one of our long lost cousins in Brazil. He replied as follows:

I am from the Dib family, of KFOUR EL ARAB (Kfour Al Araba / Niha Batroun) , in the mountains of Lebanon.
My mother is Julia Kinon (95 years old) and is now hospitalized, her parents were Salima and Jorge Kinon.
My father is Antonio Dib (died in 1963). He was the son of Catarina and Calil Dib. Catarina's brother in Brasil was Kalil Sehbe.

Antonio and Julia were already married when they came to Caxias do Sul. Brought along by my maternal granmother's brother, Kalil Sehbe. I have relatives in KFOUR EL ARAB, of the family ANDEREI family.

Therefore, I am not the long lost cousin in your dear family tree. However, of heart, I want to be considered your cousin.

Eu sou da familia Dib, de KFOUR EL ARAB, nas montanhas do Libano. Meus avós eram: por parte de minha mãe Julia, que está com 95 anos e atualmente hospitalizada, SALIMA E JORGE KINON e, por parte de meu pai, CATARINA E CALIL DIB.

Irmão de minha avó CATARINA, no Brasil, viveu KALIL SEHBE.

Meus pais Antonio. falecido em 1963 e Julia minha mãe, vieram já casados para Caxias do Sul, trazidos pelo meu tio-avô, KALIL SEHBE. Parente meus de KFOUR EL ARAB, também são os da familia ANDEREI.

Portanto, não sou o primo faltante na árvore de sua querida familia. No entanto, de coração, quero considerar-me seu primo.
